World Bank Group Launches a Trade Facilitation Survey in Eswatini
In an effort to provide Eswatini with comprehensive trade-related technical assistance, the World Bank Group is pleased to announce the commencement of the National Trade Facilitation Study.
This study aims to understand the challenges encountered by Eswatini traders in cross-border trade. A key focus of this study is to gain insights into the distinctive challenges faced by women involved in cross-border trade. These insights will be used to inform trade procedures relating to the movement, release, and clearance of goods in Eswatini.
For those of you engaged in the trade of goods across Eswatini’s borders, this study presents a unique opportunity for you to share your trade-related experiences and contribute to Eswatini’s trade transformation.
The study will take place nationwide with interviews scheduled to conclude by April 12, 2024. Interviews will be conducted by telephone, and each interview will take approximately 25-minutes. All survey responses and identities of respondents will be kept anonymous and confidential.
Who will be undertaking the interviews?
The World Bank has partnered with Surveya Global and their team of local Eswatini enumerators, carefully selected from the University of Eswatini, to conduct telephonic interviews.

We understand the importance of protecting your privacy. Rest assured, your identity and any disclosed details will remain strictly confidential. All data collected will be reported at an aggregate level, safeguarding firm-specific information. Data will be reported on at an aggregate level and will be used to inform trade policy and procedures relating to the movement, release, and clearance of goods in Eswatini.
