You are hereby informed, following the announcement by the Ministry of Home Affairs and upon verification against the 2026 National Public Holiday Schedule, of the following arrangements regarding the April public holidays:
- This year, His Majesty the King’s Birthday, observed on 19 April 2026, falls on a Sunday. This public holiday that would ordinarily have been observed on Monday, 20 April 2026 but has been rescheduled to Friday, 24th April 2026. Accordingly, Monday, 20th April 2026 shall be a normal working day.
- National Flag Day, observed on 25th April 2026, falls on a Saturday and remains unchanged as per the official public holiday schedule.
- National commemorative events for His Majesty’s 58th Birthday and the Ruby Jubilee marking 40 years on the Throne will be jointly held on Friday, 24th April 2026.
- Accordingly, the public holiday position is as follows:
Friday, 24th April 2026 – Public Holiday (King’s Birthday – rescheduled)
Saturday, 25th April 2026 – Public Holiday (National Flag Day – as per schedule)
- Members are advised that this results in successive paid public holidays on Friday, 24 April and Saturday, 25 April 2026. Any work performed on either of these days will attract public holiday/overtime pay in accordance with the applicable sectoral wage orders and relevant legislation.
Members are encouraged to plan operations accordingly and ensure compliance with applicable legal provisions governing work on public holidays.
