Business Eswatini – The Home of Business.
Business Eswatini emerged from two bodies, namely; the Swaziland Chamber of Commerce & Industry (formed in 1916) and the Federation of Swaziland Employers (formed in 1964). In 2003, these two organizations amalgamated and became the Federation of Swaziland Employers and Chamber of Commerce FSE&CC. Following the name change of the country from Swaziland to Eswatini in 2018, FSE&CC then took the opportunity to change its name to Business Eswatini (BE).
We are the leading private sector business organization acting as a bridge for cooperation between businesses, government and organized labour in efforts to help remove barriers to trade, mobilize investment, foster a good environment for business and promote good practice in corporate governance and corporate citizenship.
As a member-based organization, our core mandate is at the forefront of our existence. Our mandate defines what we do, how we do it and is the passion that drives us to grow our service offering to members by supporting them and promoting business resilience.
BE represents more than 80% of the private sector in Eswatini. We are also a member of the International Organization of Employers (IOE), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the SADC Private Sector Forum (SPSF) and the Association of SADC Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Membership
Since 1916, members of BE have been involved in economic development. Eswatini now has a stable economy coming from the many years invested by businesses in the nation. There are many benefits of being a member of BE as a business, and these stem from the fact that BE;
- Is a key driver of the economy through involvement in policy making.
- Provides advisory services to its members be it trade related or industrial relations issues.
- Connects businesses to vital information and to each other.
