Business Eswatini (BE) formally entered into a cooperation agreement with Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) yesterday, 3rd June, 2024. The signing ceremony of the MOU was conducted on the sidelines of the ongoing International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva which was witnessed by senior officials from the ILO. This agreement was signed by the BE CEO Mr. E. Nathi Dlamini and Cas Coovadia the CEO of BUSA and it marks the culmination of many months of discussions between the two organisations aimed at deepening the relationship between the two apex organisations whose countries both share a border and strong commerce and trade ties.

The private sector is currently being represented by BE CEO and Industrial Committee member, Mr. Bheki Maziya in the ongoing Insternational Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva. Their presence at this conference holds immense importance as it plays a pivotal role in shaping global labor policies and promoting collaboration among various industries. The conference serves as a platform for establishing and adopting international labour standards, as well as facilitating discussions on significant social and labor issues.
The International Labour Conference is the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) highest decision-making body. It meets annually, bringing together the tripartite delegations from the Organization’s 187 Member States and a number of observers from other international actors to consider a series of topics related to the world of work, placed on its agenda by the Organization’s Governing Body. The Conference is composed of the Conference plenary and technical committees. The 112th Session of the International Labour Conference will be held from 3 to 14 June 2024 in Geneva, on two premises: the Palais des Nations and the ILO headquarters.
The agenda of the 112th Session of the Conference, as approved by the Governing Body of the ILO, consists of the following seven items. A brief description of each item is provided in the next section.
