About Us

Business Eswatini is a voluntary, non-profit making member-based organisation representing employers and businesses in all sectors of the Eswatini economy to promote trade and harmonious labour relations.

Business Eswatini is the main voice of the private sector in Swaziland. Business Eswatini represents more than 80% of big businesses in Swaziland. It protects the economic interests of the business community through continuous advocacy, engagement and dialogue on legislative and policy issues. Throughout its existence, Business Eswatini has forged working relations with the Government of Swaziland and other key stakeholders within and beyond the Kingdom of Swaziland.

Business Eswatini is a member of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), the SADC Private Sector Forum and the COMESA Business Council.


Our History

Business Eswatini is the force behind organized business and employers in Swaziland. Business Eswatini emerges out of the amalgamation of the Swaziland Chamber of Commerce & Industry (formed in 1916) to the Federation of Swaziland Employers (formed in 1964) in July 2003.

It is the leading private sector business organization acting as a bridge for cooperation between business and government on efforts to help remove barriers to trade, mobilize investment, foster a good environment for business, and promote good practice in corporate governance and corporate citizenship. Business Eswatini represents more than 80% of big businesses in Swaziland’s. It is also a member of the International Organization of Employers (IOE), Association of SADC Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCI), Pan African Employers’ Confederation (PAEC) and COMESA Business Council.

Our Mandate

The Constitution vests power on the Board of Directors over various areas relevant to broadcasting the voice of business at a local and national level, striving for an economic and cultural environment that fosters business growth, economic development and job creation. The main objectives of the organization include:

  1. To be an umbrella body for all businesses in Swaziland
  2. To promote and defend the interests of its members in any way as may be considered necessary
  3. To promote and foster trade, commerce and industry of all descriptions whatsoever, in and outside of Swaziland
  4. To promote, support and/or make representations in relation to legislative or other measures affecting the interests of members and the trading environment
  5. To collect, clarify and disseminate statistical and other information of relevance and interest to our members
  6. To speak authoritatively and independently for the whole business community (business and employers) on issues of policy and public interest
  7. To conciliate, negotiate, arbitrate or by any other means contribute to the settlement of commercial or industrial disputes
  8. To provide efficient, relevant, professional and quality services to business for sustainable growth and development
